# How to Connect Antigravity to MewCP

Add MewCP to Antigravity once, and Antigravity's agent can use every app you have connected in MewCP: Gmail, Calendar, Slack, GitHub and the rest. Antigravity connects to MewCP directly over HTTP, so there is nothing to install.

Antigravity 2.0, the Antigravity IDE and the Antigravity CLI all read the same `mcp_config.json`, so one setup covers all three.

---

## Before you start

- **Antigravity** installed ([download](https://antigravity.google/))
- **A API Key** from **Dashboard → API Keys**, see [API Key](/mewcp/authentication/mewcp-key)
- **At least one app connected** in the dashboard under **Servers**

---

## Set up MewCP

<Stepper>

1. **Open `mcp_config.json`**

   | Where you use Antigravity | How to open the file |
   | ------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
   | IDE | Click **…** at the top of the agent side panel, select **MCP Servers → Manage MCP Servers → View raw config** |
   | CLI or Antigravity 2.0    | Open `~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json` in a text editor                                                      |

   That file applies to every project. To add MewCP to one project only, use `.agents/mcp_config.json` inside it instead. Create the file if it does not exist.

1. **Add MewCP**

   Paste this into the file and replace `API_KEY` with your key:

   ```json
   {
     "mcpServers": {
       "mewcp": {
         "serverUrl": "https://gateway.mewcp.com/personal/mcp",
         "headers": {
           "Authorization": "Bearer API_KEY"
         }
       }
     }
   }
   ```

   Already have an `mcpServers` section? Add only the `"mewcp": { ... }` entry inside it.

   Antigravity reads the address from `serverUrl`. Guides for other apps use `url`, which Antigravity does not read.

1. **Load it**

   Save the file. In Antigravity 2.0, open **Settings → Customizations** and click the refresh button under **Installed MCP Servers**. In the CLI, type `/mcp` and reload the server configuration.

</Stepper>

This is the entire configuration. One entry reaches every app you have connected, and connecting another app later needs no change here.

Antigravity stores the key as plain text in this file. Keep `mcp_config.json` out of version control, especially a project's `.agents/mcp_config.json`.

---

## Check it works

- **Antigravity 2.0:** MewCP appears under **Settings → Customizations → Installed MCP Servers**, switched on.
- **IDE:** MewCP appears under **… → MCP Servers**.
- **CLI:** type `/mcp` and check MewCP shows as active.

You will see four tools, not the tools of every app: `search`, `get_schema`, `list_accounts` and `call_tool`. That is expected. The agent uses them to find and run the right tool for whatever you ask. See [How MewCP works](/mewcp/getting-started#how-mewcp-works).

Then ask the agent for something from an app you have connected:

```
What is on my calendar tomorrow?
```

Antigravity asks for your approval before each MCP tool call by default. To let MewCP's tools run without asking, allow `mcp(mewcp/*)` in your [permissions policy](https://antigravity.google/docs/permissions).

## Troubleshooting

### MewCP is not listed

- Check the entry uses `serverUrl`, not `url` or `httpUrl`.
- Check the file is valid JSON. A missing comma, or a trailing comma after the last entry, stops it from loading.
- Older Antigravity versions kept the file at `~/.gemini/antigravity/mcp_config.json`. In the IDE, **View raw config** always opens the file your version reads, so edit that one.

### MewCP shows as disconnected

Usually MewCP rejected the key. MewCP does not use OAuth, so an **Authenticate** button next to it will not help: fix the key instead.

- Check the header reads `Bearer ` followed by the whole key, which starts with `mcp_live_`.
- A `403` that says the billing period is not active means your MewCP plan needs renewing in the dashboard.

In the CLI, `/mcp` shows each server's connection log, which includes the error MewCP returned.

### MewCP is listed but its tools never run

Check MewCP is switched on under **Installed MCP Servers**, and that `"disabled": true` or a `disabledTools` list is not set on the `mewcp` entry.
